Why Freedom Rests exists
If you've ever driven a Jeep or Bronco with the tube doors on, you know the feeling. Your arm has nowhere to go. You're gripping the roll bar, resting on the door frame, or just suffering through it. It's one of those small annoyances that adds up over a long day on the trail.
Matt Hall, the founder of Freedom Rests, spent years dealing with exactly that. A lifelong off-road enthusiast, Matt loved everything about driving with the doors off — the wind, the views, the freedom — but the lack of a proper armrest always nagged at him.
After trying every workaround he could find and coming up empty, he decided to build his own. What started as a shop project turned into something he couldn't stop thinking about — a clean, universal armrest that clamps onto any tube door, installs in seconds, and actually looks like it belongs there.
It's rare today to find an authentic wood product for your ride that is both practical, complementary, and designed with the owner in mind. Freedom Rests is exactly that. Precision laser-cut from solid red oak, finished by hand, and built with solid stainless steel hardware — every detail was chosen to last. The design is Patent Pending, and every unit is made right here in the USA.
